Community Garden

Ramat-Begin, Haifa, Israel

Design - Build Studio led By Arch. Dan Price

After numorous meetings with Ramat-Begin residents and a public forum, a community garden was commissioned by the neighborhood and city hall to be designed and built by the Design-Build Studio at the Technion Architecture Faculty.

The project was carried out with the help of students, volunteers, and the local community in collaboration with the Ramat-Begin Community Center, the Welfare Services and the Haifa Municipality Parks Department.

The project was centered on the restoration of a community garden - design choices included accessible paths, arrangement and distribution of flower beds for residents, water routing in case of floods, and seating areas. In addition, we constructed a pavilion that allows for a communal gathering area for residents and pupils from the local elementary school.
